From the end of May, the terraced fields in Kon Tu Rang change color, creating a brilliant golden picture, a new destination that attracts visitors to check in when coming to Mang Den.
About 10 km from the center of Mang Den town, Kon Plong district is in the most beautiful season of the year when the yellow color of ripe rice covers the terraced fields. Kon Tu Rang village is a well-known place, where the terraced fields are gentle and eye-catching. To watch ripe rice, visitors can ride a motorbike or car along the main road in the village, go to the intersection at the end of the road, park the vehicle at the nearby forest ranger’s house and then walk to the terraced fields.
Kon Tu Rang village is located near the ”37 households” area of Mang Den town, where there are many agricultural projects and many famous tourist attractions. Terraced fields are located at the foot of Ngoc Le mountain, Dak Bla stream flows around. In addition, there is also the famous Kon Tu Rang suspension bridge, which gives visitors a wider and more open view of the terraced fields.
Unlike the regular fields like in the plains, Mang Den terraced fields are irregular plots and plots overlapping each other. Each box has different light and dark colors, creating a beautiful interweaving and color transition.
The rice fields in Kon Tu Rang are gradually turning yellow, ready to be harvested. This is also a good time for tourists to visit and take photos. From the field, visitors can trek to Ngoc Le peak to have a panoramic view of Kon Tu Rang terraced fields and Mang Canh commune.
Tourists should spend about half a day in Kon Tu Rang, then move to Mang Den to visit other places such as the cafe located at the beginning of the new Mang Den pass, which has a panoramic view of the mountains and hills (photo) or Highway 24 heading towards Quang Ngai, curves up to the statue of Our Lady of Mang Den.
