In the trip to the South of Vietnam, visitors should never miss out the Sand Dunes of Mui Ne. It’s amazing and takes only 1 day to explore the Sahara of Vietnam so there is no reason you should skip this little dessert.
In the place that is called the little Sahara of Vietnam, sand sledding is the top activity. There’re so many loca shops renting plastic sleds there so you have wide range of options but just remember to check and agree on the price before picking up a sled. Also, at this dry paradise with strong wind and no electric wire above the head, kite flying is another great idea to enjoy the time here in Mui Ne sand dunes.
The White Dunes of Mui Ne
The White Dune is a large dune consisting a bunch of smaller dunes and known as Bau Trang in Vietnamese. The dunes are covered by snow-white sand dotted with pine trees is an ideal place for both physical activities and sightseeing. Just imagine you’re sledding on the soft dunes under the honey sun of the South or resting under the shades of pine trees watching white dunes running to the horizon, it’s quite pleasant. You can visit this place all year round but remember to see the weather forecast to avoid rainy days as it isn’t fun at all. The best time in day to visit this place is in the morning or late afternoon when the sun is not too strong and remember to bring some sunscreen and lots of water.
The Red Sand Dunes of Mui Ne
Right in its name, we can tell the difference is the color of sand. Unlike the white sand dunes, the sand is is reddish-brown making it a perfect background for photo shoots. The red sand dunes are smaller than the white ones but still a great playground for sledding and also it is nearer to the entry road compare to the white sand dunes. This is also a place you can visit all year round and the list of necessary items are still sunscreen and lots of water as it is still a dessert though.
